Final Report by Jami KovachJami Kovach, 05 Jun 2009 21:14

It is obvious, even though the opportunities for improvement in JVPR are many, that the potential solutions are grouped in three main categories; data, process, technology. The issues associated with data range from not having a standard naming convention that defines the data elements required in a JVPR, to not being defined up front or as part of the Joint Operating Agreement, and finally the requirements from one JV to another or to a regulatory agency or goverment varying. When it comes to process, the JVPR project delivered a high level process from a workflow perspective that begins to define JVPR, however a more detail dive is needed to further define it and also document it. From a technology point of view, everyone seems to be in agreement that it is an easier issue to solve, however one has to take into consideration the security risks associated with sharing data between partners or more importantly making it available online for others to access. Issues range from having the appropriate access rights to encryption of the data itself.

The participants believe that some of the issues can be addressed through the recommendations identified, especially the technology ones, however when it comes to process and data the industry needs to have executive sponsorship and funding to make a difference. Industry workgroups can continue to detail both the process and data standards and believe that with some effort, such as that being made in WITSML and PRODML, can define the solutions. Implementing and adopting those solutions would however, remain the challenges and success of the overall effort.

I have just removed the scanned comments. I agree and Kemal also made the same point. We will compile and then post. -Deniz

I would suggest we post the summarized version of our findings in this section of the Wiki. I don't see the need to post images of notes as those would lack the context that they were created.
